Adopt an Animal Ambassador
Although our adoptions are symbolic and you cannot actually take "your" new addition home, this is another wonderful way to give the gift of life to our animal patients while giving a very special remembrance to a friend or relative who also loves wildlife.
Due to their irreversible injuries, these animals residing at FPWC are not capable of surviving in the wild. They now serve as animal ambassadors for their species and help us to educate the public.
With your adoption donation, you will receive a suitable-for-framing "Certificate of Adoption" with a beautiful photograph of your bird or animal. Your name and/or the name of your gift recipient (the adoptive "parent") is also on the certificate with a brief description and history of "their" animal.
Our current non-releasable animal residents are:
- Stinky, a striped skunk
- Mimi, a Virginia opossum
- Leroy, a gray squirrel raised in a furniture store
- Sunshine, a red-shouldered hawk with impaired flight
- Hootie, a great-horned owl found on a golf course with a fractured wing
- Chance and Hope, a pair of mottled ducks with wing injuries
- Orion, an osprey with a fractured wing who de-stresses other osprey
patients.

Adoptions are available for a $50 each (or optional, larger) tax-deductible donation to Folke Peterson Wildlife Center. To adopt an animal resident please complete the following form.
