Executive Director Heather Landstrom holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and has twelve years of experience in the non-profit sector, including Executive Director of one of Palm Beach County's oldest and most beloved charities, Opportunity, Inc. Prior to joining Opportunity, she served as Major Gifts Manager for the Epilepsy Foundation of South Florida, working with high net worth donors in a five county area. She has also worked as an independent fund raising consultant, serving candidates for elected office, grassroots and faith-based organizations, political action committees and advocacy groups.

Veterinarian Dr. Dacia Oprisanu obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Missouri and has an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Saskatchewan. Dacia has always had a special interest in wildlife and passion for preserving the natural world. She has completed a number of preceptorships in the field of exotic animal medicine.

Wildlife Care Manager Vered Nograd CVT, has handled the gamut of injuries and treatments during her career as a certified veterinary technician, specializing in native wildlife. She brings 15 years of experience in the diagnosis, treatment and husbandry of patients, as well as overseeing the management of our hospital.

Development Coordinator Ellen Horton offers more than 20 years of marketing experience including special events, public relations, advertising and corporate branding. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of North Texas, and has managed marketing programs for the corporate offices of JCPenney, FootAction USA and the Dallas Market Center, plus regional malls and advertising agencies. Ellen joins the staff after serving as a FPWC volunteer and Education Committee member.

Education Coordinator Terry Timberlake brings over 20 years of wildlife experience to FPWC. In 1985, Terry began training non-releasable native species for educational presentations at the Florida Keys Wild Bird Center in Key Largo, Florida. She created and directed the facility's education and outreach program until moving to Palm Beach County in 1998. Terry remains on the board of FKWBC. Since joining FPWC as a volunteer, she has continued her quest to teach children to respect and co-exist with wildlife.

Staff wildlife rehabilitators and numerous volunteers assist with animal rescue, care, food preparation, cage cleaning, and other facility operations.
